Mother's Day Fun 2011

Juliana's first dance recital

Juliana had her first dance recital over Mother's Day weekend! She had a lot of fun. We were grateful to all the family who traveled to see her. She did not want to stop to get her picture taken, thus the posed smile:) She was too busy playing in between performances.

Birthday!

We had a great family day on my birthday. I turned 37. Juliana designed the colors for my cake:)

These two went on a "date" to a concert at Rick's school. She LOVED it!

Easter 2011

Our family participated in a fundraising 2 mile walk for Youth Horizon. Juliana walked the entire way!

Big Boy-almost 23 months old

It seems like overnight he turned into a little boy:) Lots of fun and laidback unless he is hungry:)

Nana and Papa Visit in March 2011

We love when Nana and Papa visit for many reasons. The kids love them but Rick and I also love it. Just imagine Rick and I to the side relaxing in our own recliner:) That was what was happening in this picture. I'm quite certain they should visit us weekly:)

Juliana in french braids:) We were blessed to meet Mrs. White at Bible Study and she cuts/styles the kids' hair. Juliana finds it so much fun, especially since her mother lacks these hair styling skills:)

20 months old

Snow Days!

We had a few snow days which was unusual and it also meant Dad stayed home! Woo-hoo! Lots of sled rides and hot chocolate by the fire:)

Happy New Year 2011 and Christmas 2010

It was a great Christmas. Santa was left pink cupcake, pink icing and strawberry/chocolate swirl milk:) Rumor has it, he really liked it! Next year we will have to try to incorporate some blue or go traditional red/green:)

Fall 2010

It was not my intent to post every four months but I guess that is how it happened. In some ways it is nice to reflect on this past semester. Juliana started dance class, Lukas is now walking, Rick is teaching at a local high school and I am a children's leader with Bible Study Fellowship. Just recently I have filled in for a Speech-Language Pathologist one day a week. It is short term but I have loved it! We have had a lot of sickness. This has been challenging with many sleepless nights. Lukas has had tummy troubles-still trying to figure that out.
Now that it has turned colder, we enjoy the woodburning fireplace, hanging out together and with friends, and lately looking at a lot of Christmas lights! This is a short summary but we are blessed in challenging times and in good times.

Hunting at Papa's

Rick finally got the chance to go pheasant hunting with Papa. Rick's beard is finally gone. Let's just say he fully embraced "No shave November!" It drove me crazy:)

Fake Cry Face

If told no, Lukas will go into an immediate fake cry. I tried to capture it on camera but did not get the full effect. Quite funny.

Happy Boy

Halloween

Mr. Bill and Ms. Teri came to visit us all the way from Missouri. We got to go to the Super church fall party, had a beautiful day at the zoo and went trick or treating. Juliana was Cinderella and Lukas was a puppy dog:)

Homecoming 10-22-10

Juliana had the privilege of carrying the queen's crown at Rick's school. It started raining during the ceremony. Her favorite part was getting to put the pillow over her head in the rain:)
