For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:13,14 (NIV)

What an Angel.

If only life could always be this peacful.

Two weeks old.

I can't believe she has been with us for two weeks already. Being a father is so surreal. I can't believe this wonderful creation is mine to care for. Other than the lack of sleep the past two weeks have been amazing.

Two Weeks and Counting

What were they thinking?

Juliana literally closed her eyes and threw her hands up when she watched the Nebraska-OSU game. She could not believe the calls the refs were making. Oh well, things should be better next week against Missouri.

Juliana had her first doctor’s appointment Friday. Everything went well; she is on her way back to her birth weight. She enjoyed the car ride so much that Mom and Grandma took her out for a tour of the town.

Grandpa is a Softy

After allowing everyone time to hold the baby Grandpa took over. You could not pry Juliana out of his arms. Grandpa said she had her Daddy wrapped around her finger; well it didn’t take long to have him wrapped around it either.

Grandma Loves the Baby

First Bath

This picture was taken just after Juliana's 1st bath.

Mom and Baby Leaving the Hospital

Here is Mom and Baby before we came home from the hospital. The adventure is only getting started. If only babies stayed this calm. Actually things have gone really well. We made some adjustments to our sleep schedules and eating schedules, and after the initial shock I think we are going to make it.

New Update

Yes we are now home. Jami took this picture as we entered the house. Oh what a blessing Juliana is. She has done very well with the exception of being a little stubborn on the feeding thing Monday and early Tuesday everything has gone well. Her Grandma and Grandpa Davis are in town so she is getting plenty of attention and loving every minute of it. This has also given Mom some time to rest. Me, well I am just still amazed that she is with us.

We're Home

We are all home now. Mom is doing a wonderful job. Juliana exercised her lungs yesterday; it is such a sweet sound. Jami and I are trying to take shifts; Jami gets her when it’s time to eat and I take her when it’s time for a nap. That worked out pretty well for me. Thanks for all your prayers.

Getting Some Rest

After a long day of figuring out this fatherhood and babyhood thing out, Juliana and I needed a little rest. The day ended well with a Nebraska victory. I was able to get the game online and I think I even heard Juliana grunt “GO HUSKERS”, maybe it was just gas. She is excited for next Saturday’s game with Texas and can’t wait to wear her Nebraska outfit. She said to tell Sue and Dr. Martin “thanks for that.”

She has really done well and is getting the feeding thing down. She is such a smart baby.

Last night was a crazy night on the OB unit. Jami and I are so glad that everything went well with our delivery. When you see what others went through last light, you get down on your knees and thank the Lord for a healthy baby and healthy mom.

Beautiful Ladies

Things have gone well today. Juliana is doing great; she is such a good baby. Mom is recovering, Jami is a phenomenal woman! We should be going home tomorrow after noon. Please continue to pray for us over the next few weeks as Mom recovers and Juliana experiences all these new things. Pray for rest for Jami, she has been through a lot. We continue to discover that we never really realize everything our parents have done for us, babies are a ton of work, but man they are so worth it. I never thought I could love someone as much as I love Jami and Juliana

Mom is Amazing

I must say I have a new found respect for women after today. Jami was a champ, she did an amazing job throughout the delivery. I know the she is going to me an amazing mother. I am so blessed to have these two beautiful ladies in my life.

Proud Papa

Wow, the whole birthing process is a bizarre and amazing thing. Words can not even begin to explain the feelings I had when Juliana arrived and I cut the umbilical cord. She truly is a gift from above. What a journey we are about to embark on.

The Doc

Dr. Wendi Carns and the staff at Southeast Hospital did an amazing job. We were so blessed by their care and concern.

5:30 It has started

This is our last picture of just the two of us.

The nurse came in and at 4 am and started monitoring Jami again. Patosin (sp?) was started at 5:00 so far so good. Everything seems to be progressing normally. It is amazing to think that in a few short hours the wonderful creation of God that Jami has carried for the past 9 months will be here with us. It just blows my mind.

13 For you created my inmost being;you knit me together in my mother's womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
16 your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
Psalm 139:13-16 (New International Version)

Baby on the Way

Jami is getting some rest today we will begin the adventure of a lifetime. In a few hours we will welcome into the world the first addition into our family. Children truly are a gift from God,
